What It Is

This is a reliable and durable 24V motor module originally designed around the cable-winding mechanism commonly used in electric clothes drying rack systems.

It combines a high-reduction DC gearmotor, dual cable drums, steel wire rope, Hall feedback, and limit-switch wiring in one compact assembly.

Why I Am Offering This

I make this module while building several DIY motion projects of my own.

A normal gearmotor only gives you rotary motion. But in many projects, the real challenge is finding a compact and affordable mechanism that can reliably pull in and release a relatively long cable.

Because this mechanism was made for electric clothes drying rack use, it is especially appealing when you want a motorized lifting solution that is proven, practical, reliable, and durable.

It is also useful when you need to convert motor rotation into real cable pull-and-release motion without designing the gearbox, cable drums, and basic wiring system from scratch.

The wire rope must remain under light tension while winding and unwinding. Your project should include reliable cable routing, guides, pulleys, tensioners, springs, counterweights, or other suitable mechanical arrangements.

Do not allow the steel cable to become loose on the drum. Loose wire rope can overlap, jam, stall the motor, overload the gearbox, or eventually damage the mechanism.

This module has substantial torque. Use appropriate mechanical stops, fuses, motor control, and safety protection.

Do not use this product for lifting people, animals, or safety-critical loads.
