Description
Sensors and special resistors in one pack
Five kinds of resistor that change with the world around them or do a job a plain resistor cannot: photoresistors that react to light, NTC thermistors in epoxy and glass for measuring temperature, varistors that clamp voltage surges, and SIP resistor networks that put up to nine pull-up or pull-down resistors in a single row of pins. 435 parts, every type bagged and labelled.

Photoresistors (LDR), 5 mm, 10 of each

| Type | Resistance at 10 lux | Dark resistance (min.) |
|---|---|---|
| GL5506 | 2–5 kΩ | 0.2 MΩ |
| GL5516 | 5–10 kΩ | 0.5 MΩ |
| GL5528 | 10–20 kΩ | 1 MΩ |
| GL5537 | 20–30 kΩ | 2 MΩ |
| GL5539 | 50–100 kΩ | 5 MΩ |
Resistance falls as light gets brighter. Pick a lower-resistance type for dim rooms and a higher one for daylight; use one leg of a voltage divider into an analog input.
Metal oxide varistors, ±10 %, 10 of each

| Part | Disc | Varistor voltage (1 mA) | Max. continuous AC / DC |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5D471K | 5 mm | 470 V | 300 V / 385 V |
| 7D471K | 7 mm | 470 V | 300 V / 385 V |
| 7D431K | 7 mm | 430 V | 275 V / 350 V |
| 7D391K | 7 mm | 390 V | 250 V / 320 V |
| 10D471K | 10 mm | 470 V | 300 V / 385 V |
| 10D431K | 10 mm | 430 V | 275 V / 350 V |
| 10D391K | 10 mm | 390 V | 250 V / 320 V |
| 10D241K | 10 mm | 240 V | 150 V / 200 V |
| 10D330K | 10 mm | 33 V | 20 V / 26 V |
| 10D270K | 10 mm | 27 V | 17 V / 22 V |
| 14D471K | 14 mm | 470 V | 300 V / 385 V |
| 14D431K | 14 mm | 430 V | 275 V / 350 V |
The code gives the disc size (5D = 5 mm) and the voltage in three digits (471 = 47 × 10 = 470 V); a larger disc absorbs bigger surges. The 27 V and 33 V types suit 12–24 V DC equipment, the others mains-powered circuits.
NTC thermistors MF52 (epoxy bead), B = 3950, ±5 %, 10 of each

| Resistance at 25 °C | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 kΩ | 2 kΩ | 3 kΩ | 4.7 kΩ | 5 kΩ |
| 10 kΩ | 20 kΩ | 47 kΩ | 50 kΩ | 100 kΩ |
The small black bead reacts quickly and is the usual choice for room, battery and 3D-printer bed temperature readings (about −40 to +125 °C).
NTC thermistors MF58 (glass), B = 3950, ±5 %, 10 of each

| Resistance at 25 °C | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 kΩ | 2 kΩ | 5 kΩ | 10 kΩ | 20 kΩ |
| 50 kΩ | 100 kΩ | 200 kΩ | 500 kΩ | 1 MΩ |
Sealed in glass, these stand higher temperatures than the epoxy beads (typically up to about 200 °C) and are the type used in kettles, ovens and hot ends; the high values suit the hot end of that range.
SIP resistor networks (bussed), 5 of each

| Part | Pins | Resistors | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10P-102 | 10 | 9 | 1 kΩ |
| 10P-103 | 10 | 9 | 10 kΩ |
| 9P-102 | 9 | 8 | 1 kΩ |
| 9P-103 | 9 | 8 | 10 kΩ |
| 9P-221 | 9 | 8 | 220 Ω |
| 9P-331 | 9 | 8 | 330 Ω |
| 9P-471 | 9 | 8 | 470 Ω |
| 9P-472 | 9 | 8 | 4.7 kΩ |
| 9P-473 | 9 | 8 | 47 kΩ |
| 8P-103 | 8 | 7 | 10 kΩ |
| 7P-103 | 7 | 6 | 10 kΩ |
| 6P-103 | 6 | 5 | 10 kΩ |
| 5P-103 | 5 | 4 | 10 kΩ |
Bussed ("A" type) networks: pin 1, marked with a dot, is common to all resistors and every other pin is one resistor. Ideal as pull-ups for a data bus or keypad, or current limiting for a row of LEDs (220–470 Ω).
Good to know
- Varistors go across the supply they protect, usually after a fuse. Working on mains-powered circuits is only for people qualified to do so.
- Thermistor resistance falls as temperature rises. Most microcontroller libraries convert the reading with the B value (3950) and the resistance at 25 °C; pair the thermistor with a fixed resistor of the same value.
- Photoresistors are cadmium sulphide cells: they respond in tens of milliseconds, fine for day/night and light-level sensing but not for data. Dispose of them as electronic waste.
- Parts are bagged and labelled by value or part number and packed by hand by our supplier, so a bag can occasionally hold a few pieces more or less than listed, or a close substitute value. Some bag labels are printed in Chinese next to the part numbers.
- Contains small parts. Not a toy; keep away from young children.

Shipping
Standard shipping: $9.00 for the first item, +$1.80 for each additional item. Free shipping on orders over $260.
We ship worldwide, by default with economical international post (UPU / China Post small packet) to keep shipping costs low. Orders are usually handed to the carrier within 2–5 business days, and economical international post then takes about 10–30 business days to arrive; these are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery time depends on the destination and on postal and customs handling. If you need your order by a certain date, email us before ordering: faster shipping can be arranged, with the extra cost charged at the carrier's actual rate. Items that contain batteries or magnets are marked on their product page and ship by a special carrier line; some countries and regions cannot be reached by that line, and if yours is one of them we refund the order in full.
Customs & duties
Import duties, taxes and customs requirements depend on the destination country, the shipping route and the local customs office, so we cannot say in advance whether any will apply to your parcel. Customs may hold a parcel, ask for more information, or ask for duties or taxes to be paid, even when the declared value is correct. If you have a question about your country, email us before ordering.
