Large Wind Turbine Kit – 95 cm Advanced Wind Power Generator with Gearbox & Voltmeter
Build a 95 cm wind turbine with a see-through gearbox, aluminium tower, voltmeter, LED and switch: a classroom-size model of wind power.
Designed by Mematrix Lab
Description
A big, working model of a real wind turbine
This advanced kit builds a wind turbine about 95 cm tall, closely modelled on the turbines in real wind farms. Three long blades turn a rotor shaft into a clear gearbox, where large and small double gears speed up the generator. The turbine stands on an aluminium tower over a modular black base, and the generator is wired to a voltmeter, an LED and a switch on green plug-in modules. Point a strong fan at it or take it outside on a windy day: the blades turn, the voltmeter needle moves and the LED lights up.
It is a larger, more detailed step up from our Wind Turbine Kit, and big enough to display in a classroom or science corner.
Science it demonstrates
- Wind energy: how blades turn moving air into rotation
- Gear ratios: how the gearbox makes the generator spin faster than the rotor
- Generators: how spinning a generator produces electric current
- Measuring electricity: reading the voltmeter as the wind speed changes
What you'll do
- Join the six base plates and fit the tower mount and the aluminium tower
- Assemble the gearbox with its gears, shafts and generator
- Fit the rotor and the three blades
- Wire the voltmeter, LED holder and switch with the terminal wires
- Test with a fan at different speeds and compare the voltmeter readings
Parts list
- Rotor with shaft, three blades
- Gearbox (upper and lower shells, mount), large double gear, two small double gears, long and short shafts
- Generator module, voltmeter module, LED and LED holder, switch module
- Aluminium tower, tower mount, six base plates, 14 connecting plates, 10 connecting pins, terminal wires
Good to know
- No batteries needed: the wind is the power source. A strong fan works well indoors.
- Needs space: the supplier's drawing marks about 85 × 30 cm.
- Contains small parts and long blades. Recommended for ages 8 and up, with adult guidance.

Shipping
$25.00 shipping per item.
We ship worldwide, by default with economical international post (UPU / China Post small packet) to keep shipping costs low. Orders are usually handed to the carrier within 2–5 business days, and economical international post then takes about 10–30 business days to arrive; these are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery time depends on the destination and on postal and customs handling. If you need your order by a certain date, email us before ordering: faster shipping can be arranged, with the extra cost charged at the carrier's actual rate. Items that contain batteries or magnets are marked on their product page and ship by a special carrier line; some countries and regions cannot be reached by that line, and if yours is one of them we refund the order in full.
Batteries & magnets
This item contains, or may contain, batteries or magnets (for example in a motor, speaker or rechargeable battery). Ordinary postal parcels with such items may not pass security screening, so it ships by a special carrier line, and its price includes a $10 surcharge for this. Some countries and regions cannot be reached by this line. If yours is one of them, we will email you and refund your order in full.
Customs & duties
Import duties, taxes and customs requirements depend on the destination country, the shipping route and the local customs office, so we cannot say in advance whether any will apply to your parcel. Customs may hold a parcel, ask for more information, or ask for duties or taxes to be paid, even when the declared value is correct. If you have a question about your country, email us before ordering.
