Description
Metal drive parts that 3D printing can't match
Thin shafts, couplers and collars are the parts a printed mechanism struggles with: a printed 2 mm shaft bends, and a printed coupler slips on a motor shaft. This pack has the real thing in metal: 130 steel shafts from 1 to 3 mm in more than twenty sizes, 16 brass rigid couplers in eight bore combinations from 2 to 5 mm, six steel flange couplings, 20 shaft collars and two hex-key bags with spare set screws. Join shafts to small motors with the couplers, fix wheels, arms or printed parts with the flanges, and stop parts sliding along a shaft with the collars.

Long steel shafts, 10 of each

| Diameter | Length | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| 2 mm | 120 mm | 10 |
| 2 mm | 150 mm | 10 |
| 3 mm | 160 mm | 10 |
Straight, plated rods for axles and drive shafts. Cut them to length with a cutting disc or a fine hacksaw and deburr the end so wheels and couplers slide on.
Short and mixed shafts, 5 of each

| 2 mm shafts, length (mm) | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9.5 | 15 | 30 | 50 | 60 |
| 70 | 80 | 90 | 100 | 120 |
| Mixed shafts, length × diameter (mm) | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 × 1 | 48 × 1.5 | 40 × 2.5 | 50 × 2 | 80 × 2 |
| 90 × 2 | 90 × 2 knurled | 100 × 2 | 100 × 2.5 | 100 × 3 |
Ready-cut axles for gears, pulleys and small wheels. The 20 × 1 and 40 × 2.5 mm shafts are carbon steel; the knurled 90 mm shaft has three knurled sections that grip pressed-on gears and wheels.
Brass rigid couplers, 2 of each

| Bore pair | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 ↔ 2 mm | 2 ↔ 3 mm | 3 ↔ 3 mm | 3 ↔ 4 mm |
| 3 ↔ 5 mm | 4 ↔ 4 mm | 4 ↔ 5 mm | 5 ↔ 5 mm |
About 9 mm across and 20 mm long, with a set screw on each end. Use them to put a longer shaft on a small motor (2 mm for 130-size motors, 3 mm for N20 and many small geared motors) or to join two shafts of different sizes.
Steel flange couplings, 2 of each

| Bore | Qty |
|---|---|
| 3 mm | 2 |
| 4 mm | 2 |
| 5 mm | 2 |
A hub with a set screw and a round flange with four mounting holes: it fixes a shaft to a flat part, such as a wheel, a printed arm, a turntable or a plate. Plated steel, about 9 g each.
Shaft collars, 5 of each

| Bore | Outside diameter × width | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| 2 mm | 6 × 4 mm | 5 |
| 3 mm | 8 × 4 mm | 5 |
| 4 mm | 9 × 5 mm | 5 |
| 5 mm | 10 × 5 mm | 5 |
Nickel-plated steel rings with an M3 set screw. Slide one either side of a bearing or wheel to stop it moving along the shaft.
Good to know
- Tighten the set screws onto a flat on the shaft (file one if the shaft is round) so the part cannot slip under load. The hex-key bags fit the set screws of the couplers, flanges and collars.
- Bore sizes are nominal; a shaft may need a light polish to slide in. Measure your motor shaft before choosing a coupler.
- Heavy item: about 0.7 kg packed, so the price includes a $5 weight surcharge towards international postage (the same surcharge applies to each pack you order).
- Parts are bagged by size by our supplier, so a bag can occasionally hold a piece more or less than listed.
- Contains small parts. Not a toy; keep away from young children.

Shipping
Standard shipping: $9.00 for the first item, +$1.80 for each additional item. Free shipping on orders over $260.
We ship worldwide, by default with economical international post (UPU / China Post small packet) to keep shipping costs low. Orders are usually handed to the carrier within 2–5 business days, and economical international post then takes about 10–30 business days to arrive; these are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery time depends on the destination and on postal and customs handling. If you need your order by a certain date, email us before ordering: faster shipping can be arranged, with the extra cost charged at the carrier's actual rate. Items that contain batteries or magnets are marked on their product page and ship by a special carrier line; some countries and regions cannot be reached by that line, and if yours is one of them we refund the order in full.
Customs & duties
Import duties, taxes and customs requirements depend on the destination country, the shipping route and the local customs office, so we cannot say in advance whether any will apply to your parcel. Customs may hold a parcel, ask for more information, or ask for duties or taxes to be paid, even when the declared value is correct. If you have a question about your country, email us before ordering.
