What is it?

This is a handcrafted solid sapele wood display enclosure for standard 200 x 100 mm PCB projects. It was originally made for our TD4 4-bit CPU board, but it is not limited to that product. Any standard-size PCB, prototype board, educational electronics project, or demonstration circuit around 200 x 100 mm can use this wooden case as a protective and presentation-ready enclosure.

Wooden case only. PCB, electronic components, power supply, cables, and other electronics are not included.

Compatibility and fit

The enclosure is designed around the common 200 mm x 100 mm PCB format. A board of this size can be placed directly in the case for display. It is also compatible with the board sold in our 4Bit TD4 CPU Self-made 74 Series Chip CPU listing.

For boards with components or connectors extending beyond the PCB edge, or with unusually tall parts, please compare the actual outline and component clearance before ordering. Contact us if you would like us to help check the fit.

Solid wood craftsmanship

Each enclosure is made by hand from solid sapele wood. The wood grain and warm reddish-brown color give prototype electronics and exposed PCB assemblies a clean, professional, retro-style presentation. Because natural solid wood is used, the grain and tone vary slightly from one case to another.

The case includes a clear acrylic top panel. The panel slides into the wooden guide grooves and stays securely in position while keeping the circuit board visible. The grooves, joints, edges, and fit between the wooden case and acrylic cover are carefully finished by hand.

Angled display design

The integrated support gives the enclosure a gentle upward viewing angle of approximately 4 to 6 degrees. This makes LEDs, switches, chips, traces, and other circuit details easier to see on a desk, exhibition table, workbench, or classroom demonstration.

Dimensions and shipping

Approximate enclosure dimensions: 20 cm long x 10 cm wide x 4 cm high.

Solid wood makes the enclosure stronger and more substantial, but also heavier than a plastic or thin plywood case. The packed shipping weight is approximately 0.5 kg, so international shipping may cost more than expected for an enclosure of this size.
