Description
Find hidden metal by sound
This kit builds a handheld metal detector in a clear blue case. A current flowing through the coil in the round head makes a magnetic field. When the head passes over a metal object, the field creates small eddy currents in the metal, which in turn disturb the coil's field, and the circuit beeps. Turn the adjusting knob until the detector is silent, then sweep it over the table, the sand or the lawn to find coins, keys and screws.

What you'll do
- Fit the search coil into the round head
- Install the circuit board, adjusting knob, switch and battery holder
- Close the case and fine-tune the knob until it is just silent
