Description
The hardware drawer every maker needs
Five compartment boxes of small metric hardware for mounting boards, closing cases and finishing 3D prints: machine screws with matching nuts from M2 to M4, self-tapping screws for plastic housings, M3 brass standoffs for stacking circuit boards, 500 brass heat-set inserts that give 3D-printed parts durable threads, and an insulating white nylon M3 set. Each size has its own compartment, so the right screw is always at hand.

For plastic bosses, wood and thin sheet: the coarse thread cuts its own way, no nut needed. Carbon steel, grade 4.8, nickel-plated. The supplier sells this box by size rather than by count, so the number per compartment varies with screw size.
3 · M3 brass standoffs

| Part | Sizes | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| Female–female standoffs | M3 × 6, 10, 15, 20 mm | 10 each |
| Male–female standoffs | M3 × 6+6, 10+6, 15+6, 20+6 mm | 10 each |
| Pan-head screws | M3 × 6 mm | 20 |
| Hex nuts | M3 | 20 |
4 · Brass heat-set inserts, 50 of each

| M2 | M2.5 | M3 |
|---|---|---|
| M2 × 3, M2 × 4, M2 × 5, M2 × 6 | M2.5 × 3, M2.5 × 4, M2.5 × 5, M2.5 × 6 | M3 × 4, M3 × 5 |
Knurled brass inserts (thread × length). Press them into a slightly undersized hole in a 3D-printed or moulded part with a soldering iron set to the plastic's printing temperature; the melted plastic flows into the knurls and the insert holds a machine screw that can be tightened again and again.
5 · White nylon M3 set

| Part | Sizes | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| Male–female standoffs | M3 × 6+6, 8+6, 10+6, 12+6, 15+6, 20+6 mm | 10 each |
| Pan-head screws | M3 × 6 mm | 60 |
| Hex nuts | M3 | 60 |
Nylon does not conduct, so these are the safe choice where a standoff or screw touches copper on a circuit board.
Good to know
- Sizes are metric: M3 × 6 means a 3 mm thread, 6 mm long. Standoff sizes such as 10+6 give the body length plus the male thread.
- Our Breadboard Prototyping Pack includes a black nylon M3 set; this pack adds metal screws, brass standoffs and inserts.
- Heavy item: about 1.1 kg packed, so the price includes a $10 weight surcharge towards international postage (the same surcharge applies to each pack you order).
- Use a fine tip for heat-set inserts and keep it away from the brass when the insert is flush: the parts get hot.
- Parts are sorted and packed by hand by our suppliers, so a compartment can occasionally hold a piece more or less than listed.
- Contains small parts. Not a toy; keep away from young children.

Shipping
Standard shipping: $9.00 for the first item, +$1.80 for each additional item. Free shipping on orders over $260.
We ship worldwide, by default with economical international post (UPU / China Post small packet) to keep shipping costs low. Orders are usually handed to the carrier within 2–5 business days, and economical international post then takes about 10–30 business days to arrive; these are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery time depends on the destination and on postal and customs handling. If you need your order by a certain date, email us before ordering: faster shipping can be arranged, with the extra cost charged at the carrier's actual rate. Items that contain batteries or magnets are marked on their product page and ship by a special carrier line; some countries and regions cannot be reached by that line, and if yours is one of them we refund the order in full.
Customs & duties
Import duties, taxes and customs requirements depend on the destination country, the shipping route and the local customs office, so we cannot say in advance whether any will apply to your parcel. Customs may hold a parcel, ask for more information, or ask for duties or taxes to be paid, even when the declared value is correct. If you have a question about your country, email us before ordering.
