About Retro Computing

Retro computing is how many of us learned what a computer really is. This section collects the vintage-computer hardware we design, reproduce and test in our lab: reproduction motherboards and expansion cards for the Apple II family, TTL and homebrew CPU kits that you assemble from individual logic chips, and replicas of other classic machines such as the Sinclair ZX80, the Macintosh Plus and the original Pong arcade board.

Depending on the product you can choose a bare PCB, a kit or an assembled board, and the options on each product page list exactly what is included. The expansion cards are made for real hardware in the Apple II family (each page lists the supported models), and the VGA adapter and floppy-disk emulator help keep an old machine running with modern displays and SD cards.

If you are new to the hobby, the TD4 4-bit CPU and the Gigatron TTL microcomputer are excellent first builds: every part of the processor is visible on the board, so you can follow each instruction as it runs. Questions about compatibility, revisions or soldering are welcome; send us a message before you order.
